Vaccines available at our practice

guy showing thumbs up during coronavirus vaccination at clinic At Premier OB/GYN, we are here to help you with your reproductive health needs. We assist women in the Bradenton, FL area who are looking for quality services throughout their lives. Our facility also offers several vaccinations that new or current patients can obtain.

Below are just a few of the vaccines that can be administered at our facility:

  • TDAP – the TDAP vaccine stands for “tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.” Tetanus is a condition that causes painful muscle stiffness that can cause serious health problems and lead to difficulty eating, swallowing, and breathing. It enters into the body through wounds, cuts, or scratches. Diphtheria is a condition that can lead to heart failure, paralysis, and death. Pertussis, also known as “whooping cough,” can cause uncontrollable and severe coughing that can make it impossible to eat, drink, and breath, and can cause a host of issues including rib fractures. Adults should receive at least one dose of TDAP and have a booster every ten years.
  • GARDASIL 9 – GARDASIL 9 is a vaccine that is administered to protect against HPV, or human papillomavirus. This vaccine should be administered around the age of 11 or 12 to protect against this virus. HPV is responsible for a host of cancers, including cervical cancer, so prevention is important. This vaccine may be administered as multiple doses spread several months apart.
  • Flu Vaccine – each year, the flu season becomes problematic for patients of all ages. Research centers determine the strains of flu that are expected to be more prevalent during the year and create a vaccine to protect against them. This not only lessens your chance of getting the flu, but can also reduce the severity of the flu if you catch a strain that is not protected against with the vaccine. These are recommended annually before the flu season with vaccinations starting around the late summer or early fall seasons.
